DigitalBits Becomes Official Global Crypto of Inter Milan

Digital blockchain firm DigitalBits has become the official global crypto of the Italian football club Inter Milan. Meanwhile, Zytara Labs becomes the team’s official global digital banking partner. 

FC Internazionale Milano (Inter Milan) announced on Monday two new partnerships in the cryptocurrency world heading into the 2021-2022 season. The reigning Serie A winners will take on Zytara labs as the team’s official global digital banking partner with support from the DigitalBits Foundation. According to a press release announcing the move, the deal is worth around $100 million and is a multi-year partnership that will support the teams’ move to open up to an audience that lives an increasingly digital life. The goal is to “reach global targets and different age groups and establish itself as an icon of culture and innovation as well as sport,” reads the release. 

CEO of Inter, Alessandro Antonello, said about the deal: “We are proud to welcome Zytara as our new global partner and for Inter to officially join the DigitalBits ecosystem, who will also become our new sleeve sponsor. This agreement reflects Inter’s commitment to set the global standard for technological excellence. While digital-first experiences are vital for all sports clubs, our partnership aims higher. By leveraging Zytara digital banking and blockchain technology we will be able to enhance our global reach towards younger and digital-savvy audiences.”

Inter looking to grow fan base via crypto

The news adds that, as part of the partnership with Zytara Labs, DigitalBits will become the official global cryptocurrency for Inter. The partnerships are designed to combine “innovation and finance” and “reflects Inter’s commitment to embody the values of the city of Milan, international spirit and the predilection for innovation and contest change.

Zytara will be working with Inter to further develop a mobile app that is currently up on the Apple and Google store, along with adding Zytara’s banking technology in an “immersive branding purchasing experience.” The team hopes that the Inter App will eventually become the go-to way for fans to purchase tickets to home games, making it the entry point for global fans to connect in a new digital way. 

The deal also means that Inter will be using the DigitalBits blockchain to eventually integrate and accept XDB for both payments at the stadium and online. Physical ritual stores in Milan are will also be included down the line. The press release also stipulates that the partners will be able to leverage the DigitalBits blockchain to create digital player cards and NFTs for sale to fans across the globe. DigitalBits will also become the new sleeve partner of the team, with logos appearing on all Inter jerseys for the Men’s, Women’s, and youth teams within the organization for domestic and international matches.
